Introduction to Computers - Windows XP
This course aims to increase your productivity by providing the skills and knowledge to use Microsoft Windows XP effectively. A hands-on approach is taken during this course. The course is designed to impart relevant skills and knowledge by having participants work through real-life examples and scenarios.
This course is intended for people who wish to learn how to work with Windows XP to perform standard operating system functions, such as working with windows, copying files, creating folders, setting up printers, and the like. As such it is an ideal companion course to undertake with application software, teaching participants the practical skills of managing their computer.
This course is designed for participants with little or no knowledge of computing and/or Windows XP. As such it assumes no prerequisite skills or knowledge.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- access Windows XP, identify the screen elements, and work with a mouse
- resize, move, and scroll a window
- work with and navigate within windows
- open and close applications
- use Windows Explorer to manage folders and files
- create and manage folders
- work with computer files
- use the Recycle Bin
- create and manage shortcuts
- use the printing facilities in Windows XP
- change the appearance and operation of the desktop
