Training And Assessment (TAA) | TAA40104 Certificate IV
This qualification has been designed to provide workplace trainers and personnel within the vocational education and training, with a range of training skills including: preparing and presenting training sessions, developing training programs, evaluating and assessing participants to ensure learning outcomes have been achieved.
This course covers the Vocational Education Environment in Australia, and is underpinned by the competency based training and assessment (TAA) system. It includes using training packages, training program planning and development, training session development and group and individual training delivery and assessment.
There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency. However, it would be anticipated that the applicant would have access to a workplace in which to conduct training and assessment (TAA) and have sound literacy and computing skills.
Participants achieving this qualification will develop skills and knowledge in;
- Addressing different aspects of the relationships between work and the environment of Vocational Education and Training
- Both the design of learning products and the design of the learning process
- Delivering and facilitating learning
- The process of assessment and validation, the development of assessment tools, and the coordination of assessment systems and services

Assessment
- TAAASS401C - Plan and organise assessment
- TAAASS402C - Assess competence
- TAAASS403B - Develop assessment tools
- TAAASS404B - Participate in assessment validation
To be awarded this qualification, the student must successfully complete 14 units of competency, 12 Core units and 2 Elective units.
Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA).
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
After achieving the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, students may undertake the TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment, or a range of other Certificate IV qualifications.
A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.
