Competency Based Assessment
This three day course covers the Vocational Education Environment (VET) in Australia, and is underpinned by the competency based training and assessment system. You will gain skills and knowledge in developing assessment tools and conducting and validating competency-based assessments.
The course provides an opportunity for current trainers and assessors who hold the BSZ40198 to partially upgrade their qualification. For future trainers, this course is the first step to gaining the knowledge and skills, as well as the qualification, towards becoming an accredited vocational trainer.
There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency. However, it would be anticipated that the student would have access to a workplace in which to conduct training and assessment and have sound literacy and computing skills.
Participants achieving this qualification will develop skills and knowledge in;
- The process of assessment and validation
- The development of assessment tools
- The coordination of assessment systems and services
Units
- TAAASS401C - Plan and organise assessment
- TAAASS402C - Assess competence
- TAAASS403B - Develop assessment tools
- TAAASS404B - Participate in assessment validation
To be awarded this Statement of Attainment, the student must successfully complete 4 units of competency.
Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a Statement of Attainment in TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Competency Based Assessment).
This Statement of Attainment is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
After achieving this Statement of Attainment, students may undertake the remaining units in the qualification to achieve TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.
