ICA40105 Certificate IV in Information Technology (General)
This qualification is designed for individuals who wish to acquire the general all round ICT skills and knowledge to be competent in basic communications and documentation, software, client support and general ICT technologies. You will be able to effectively support small to medium enterprises that need an ‘all-round’ ICT graduate at a general support level.
Minimum entry requirement is competence in the following 9 units of competency:
- BSBOHS201A - Participate in OHS processes
- ICAU1128B - Operate a personal computer
- ICAD2012B - Design organisational documents using computing packages
- ICAU2005B - Operate computer hardware
- ICAU2006B - Operate computing packages
- ICAU2013B - Integrate commercial computing packages
- ICAU2231B - Use computer operating system
- ICAW2001B - Work effectively in an IT environment
- ICAW2002B - Communicate in the workplace

- ICAB4135B - Create a simple mark-up language document to specification

To be awarded this qualification, the student must successfully complete 23 units of competency, 8 Core units, 9 Specialist stream core units and 6 Elective units.
Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a ICA40105 Certificate IV in Information Technology (General).
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
After achieving the ICA40105 Certificate IV in Information Technology (General), students may undertake the ICA50305 Diploma of Information Technology (Systems Administration), or a range of other Diploma qualifications.
A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.
